BURN-IN BUSINESS CIRCLE II

The second BURN-IN BUSINESS CIRCLE was all about Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

Once again, the BURN-IN team came up with something very special. To give the BBC participants a comprehensive overview of the current CSR situation, we presented the most important aspects of our online survey and discussed the topic of CSR with its many aspects & potentials (certifications, vision work, cultural work, art interventions, positioning...).

The methodology. BURN-IN visualized on a screen the relevant core terms CSR, corporate culture, authenticity, innovation, creativity, identity, brand, emotion and intuition. In the first round, even before the lecture series, the participants made an initial evaluation (selection of the 5 most important terms | school grading system). The second evaluation round started after the presentations. Different colors in the grading enabled the evaluation of the changing opinions.

BURN-IN cultural coordinates

Objectives: ranking the importance of the individual areas, highlighting the changes through our awareness-raising work (presentations) and a creative structural development with a recognition of the interdependence of the areas.

The most important key messages:

  1. The greatest attention with 14 mentions was achieved by CSR, but with a moderate score of 3.8
  2. which received top marks: Innovation, creativity and authenticity (2.0 - 2.4)
  3. the most positive changes were achieved by the items Corporate culture (-0.8), CSR, Creativity (-0.4)

The BURN-IN cultural coordinates method shows that the symbiosis of management and artistic intervention works and delivers plausible, easily tangible results in a relatively short time.

The qualitative and quantitative evaluation of the BURN-IN online survey also brought interesting details to light. The exact facts can be found in the BBC presentation.

Many thanks to all contributors for their active participation in the BBC, especially Barbara Neuroth (Grüne), Peter Jäger (Vienna Department of Culture | MA 7), Alexandra David (Five Plus ART Gallery), Katharina Schleifer (Greifenspiel), Heribert Jascha, Ilse Köpke, Eva Pisa and our moderator & CSR Manager Stefan Keller.

Next BURN-IN BUSINESS-CIRCLE: 11. May 2017

Background: online survey | idea creation | discussion

The first BURN-IN BUSINESS CIRCLE on art branding and creative placemaking took place in June 2016. We welcomed renowned personalities from politics, business and art to the kick-off event.

Sharing know-how, bundling potential.
The aim of the four-part event series is the development of joint projects that have both a microeconomic (company) and macroeconomic (region) impact and strengthen the feeling of togetherness.

Our tried-and-tested BURN-IN concept of creating sustainable value for companies and the region through strategic art branding was rated very positively at the first Circle. However, we are convinced that we need to do more work to raise awareness so that all those involved (companies, politicians, artists) can recognize the enormous potential and use it for themselves.

In this context, we would like to emphasize once again that our focus is by no means exclusively on commercial enterprises (as the majority of sales-promoting associations do), but that we cooperate with all companies that want to develop and implement new strategies for authentic positioning together with BURN-IN. In this way, we initiate sustainable change processes and at the same time create growing intangible assets (brand) that are continuously gaining in importance and contribute significantly to the company's success. Our USP is based on the symbiosis of strategic management paired with artistic intervention.
Details and case studies can be found in the BURN-IN Portfolio.

What the Business Circle makes possible

CSR as a cultural development field

The second Business Circle made it clear that CSR goes far beyond communicating responsibility and is closely linked to corporate culture, identity and authenticity.

Sensitization through artistic methodology

With the BURN-IN cultural coordinates, a form was developed that not only queries perceptions, but also makes their changes visible.

Dialogue with measurable shift

The online survey, presentation, workshop and discussion were combined in such a way that attitudes, priorities and new perspectives became comparable.

Understanding interdependencies more clearly

The format showed how closely CSR, creativity, corporate culture and innovation are interwoven.

Impulses for further joint thinking

The Business Circle was used as a space not only to exchange opinions, but also to identify common areas for development.

Basis for further cooperation

BBC II also strengthened the series' claim to bring companies, politics and artists into a longer-term dialog.
