Theresa Octavia studied media design in Munich and worked for some of Munich's leading motion design agencies after graduating. Creatively underchallenged and in search of more fulfilling activities, she made the switch to artistic self-employment in 2014. Bohemian Gothic ART was created step by step in spring 2015 as part of her examination of her own concept of art and her renewed study of Goethe's Faust, whose timeless insight into a deeply ambivalent world of the soul strongly influenced the artist.
When creating her first double works, she studied the painting and composition techniques of 18th century art, whose influences are typical of the artist's acrylic paintings.
Theresa Octavia lives and works alternately in Munich and Murnau.
